Using The Holiday's Energy

I've been thinking... I know many of my spiritually inclined, conscious friends are not into celebrating the American holiday system. I know many of you do not want anything to do with it and understand. In America, they use these days to boost sales, cover up traditional meanings that were once fun to them but would be frowned upon now, etc... I get it! Honestly, I do not celebrate the holidays either. Well, not for their meaning anyway.. I use the holiday energy to get what I want!
                                       
Think about it, many people gathering, having fun, being kind, being thoughtful or even crying when it is a sad holiday where we mourn deaths of loved ones. The holiday energy is a great time to work your magic! You will be fully supported by the energy in the air, surrounding you. 

I have put together a list of well known holidays and how you can use them for your magickal good!


New Year’s Day: This can be a day of celebrating how far you have come. Many people no long celebrate "New Years" as an acuatal "New Year," being that the last year energy will linger for another two and a half months. If you are unfamiliar with what I am talking about, check back here because I will be posting about "New Year, Same Ol Energy." However, it is a great time to reflect on how far you have come in life or just for the past calendar year. It is a good time to write down your accomplishments and compare it to the list you made the previous year and see what you have left before the New (Astrological) Year actually starts. This celebratory energy is a very high energy one. Everyone around is excited, popping fireworks, parting. It is a good time to set intention and do some fire magic. 

Birthday of Martin Luther King Jr: This holiday will depend on your beliefs. This time is sill a good time to celebrate African American history. This is a good time to reflect on how far we have come and how you can contribute to the success of us as a people. The media has a lot to say about when we are doing shameful acts or when we are killed, but this is a good day to go deeper and find the stories that are not talked about. This is a good day to reverence Black Leaders that do not get a holiday because they were AGAINST the norm. 

Valentine’s Day: This is the PERFECT day to spend with your honey. If you do not want to make it a big deal publically, please do so privately! This is a day to complete explosive sex magick and couple rituals to make your relationship a long lasting one. This is a good day to set intentions for your relationship and reevaluate you all relationship goals. Are you guys on track? How far off track are you?

If you are single, spend the day loving on yourself. You can also complete sex magick rituals and help you get closer to where you want to be. This is a good day to reverence yourself and hold yourself up to the highest regard. If you do not have a mate, SO WHAT. Do not allow the energy of what everyone is displaying, to get you to feel down or unappreciated. LOVE ON YOURSELF this day. (Which should be done everyday, but especially this day!)

President’s Day:  If you are part of some type of cult, secret society group, or any other type of group that has a leader, use this day to celebrate them for the hard work they  put in for the group. They will be pleasantly surprised and honored. 

St Patrick’s Day:  Honestly, you can use this day as a day to treat yourself. While the nation is getting drunk, you can pamper yourself and give yourself some extra love. 

Good Friday: You can keep the same holiday meaning if you are a Christian and celebrate Jesus. 

Easter: You can keep the same holiday meaning if you are a Christian and celebrate Jesus. 

Mother’s Day: Wonderful day to celebrate your mother or motherly figures in your life. 

Memorial Day: This is a great day to celebrate the life of you ancestors if you do not have a family member who passed away in the Service. 

Father’s Day: Wonderful day to celebrate your father or fatherly figures in your life. 

Independence Day: You can keep the meaning of this holiday if it is important to you or celebrate your own independence day! The day you became mentally and emotionally independent from thinking like and doing what everyone else was doing and started thinking for yourself and following your intuition. 

Labor Day: This is a great day to congratulate yourself on all the hard work you have put into making your dreams come true. If you are still struggling with this, this is a great day to sit and figure out how you are going to make your dreams come true. 

Halloween: This is a great day to commune with the dead because the vail is thin and you will be able to reach them easier. 

Veterans' Day: Hold reverence and appreciation for all of the members of the service that have given their time and energy. 

Thanksgiving: Even if you do not celebrate this painful holiday, you can still write a list of everything you are thankful for and light a candle in their honor. 

Christmas: You can keep the same holiday meaning if you are a Christian and celebrate Jesus.
